London!

Sorry for the lack of updates!  I already am behind on tons of reading and yesterday spent the entire day in the city.  It was freeeezing, but pretty fun.  By the end I was exhausted.  We did a “photo frenzy” scavenger hunt which was an event put on by the study abroad group at school.  We all ran around, solving  clues and taking photos all over London. It was exciting to see places I hadn’t been to yet, but disappointing when we didn’t have time to stop in at the Globe’s giftshop and things like that.  But at least now I know what I really want to see and have a general idea how to get there.  The “frenzy” itself was great at first, but by the end we were all cold and starving and sick of people fighting over maps.  It was like a mini family vacation where everyone is at each other’s throats by the end of the trip. But just in time, we were offered a free dinner and free drinks, so all were happy in the end.  We stayed at the reception longer because two girls showed up late and were finishing their dinner.  Since they were cleaning up the room we were in, they offered us their VIP lounge where certain tables weren’t being seated until 10:00.  The place looked really cool and expensive.  I’m not sure how much they offered it to us… or if we just went up there without being noticed.  But they were clearing our table and offering drinks, so all was well!   Then we went out in Soho and ended our exhausting day, heading home before 10:30.

I will post pictures once I get my harddrive plugged in. (It’s really such a hassle)!  I have one silly one I will put up after this.  We had to pose for all the pictures so a lot of the ones from the group are pretty ridiculous.

Oh, Mom — you’ll be happy to hear that I walked on the steps where Princess Di got married!

I have to finish my reading tonight so tomorrow I have the day free to explore.  On the 17th I’m going to see A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Rose Theatre in Kingston, so I’m really excited for that!  I’ll let you know when more exciting things go on.

Also, a friend informed me about dance classes they offer at the school where you can pay (only 2 pounds per class)!  So I think I’m going to check those out.. they have hip-hop, salsa, and tango!
