I will send all my lovin’ to you…

Yesterday was orientation day, so it was a lot of boring things.  Made some new friends, found out my schedule, etc.  A kid who had already been to Kingston University before took us around town and showed us where to eat cheaply.  I had sweet potato curry.  Not the best curry I’ve ever had, but it was okay.

Then we went on to the Welcome Party that the school threw for the study abroad students.  It was at some fancy bar where the drinks were expensive.  Some rich old Spanish dude insisted on paying for drinks my entire group of friends and it was the one guy with us who decided to accept.  The bartender came over and was the one who said the man wanted to buy everyone drinks and he said that the man does it all the time.  Luckily, Hunter (the one guy and the returning Kingston student) not only knew the area well, but was also fluent in Spanish and managed to keep the old rich dude away!

So today, I was supposed to see a Beatles Tribute Band perform a concert on the same rooftop in London as a 40th anniversary show, but the police cancelled it.  :(

But tomorrow there is a day trip to Brighton that I’m going on.  Hopefully the weather is nice!
