Why Europe is wonderful:
I lost my glasses and thought I could survive without a pair, but it’s getting really bad. I asked my landlady about the “opticians” as they say, and she said I can go to Boots, the chemist, and they have frames there. Well, I looked and they have nice frames in a 25-75 pound price range. Then she asked if I had my prescription and I said no and that I actually need a new one...
Zurich!!!
I will be arriving in Zurich, Switzerland on Friday night and coming back to London on Tuesday! My friend Sara and I booked everything and two of our friends are in the process of booking things so they can join us! I’m so pumped!!! Can’t wait to snowboard!
It’s too bad the train tickets are so expensive ‘cos I hear it’s a really beautiful ride in to Switzerland...
Tate Modern!
Got up early and spent the day at Tate Modern. It was really amazing. Picasso, Dalí, Monet, Matisse, Cézanne, and so many other great works. Aahh, I loved it so much. I can’t wait to go back there soon!
I’m in the middle of making plans to go to Switzerland with a friend this weekend. I’ve never skiied, only snowboarded (badly), but we’re thinking of taking intro...
Ballerinaaaa, you must have seen her.
AAAAHH! Tons to update about, but must run!
Off to join my friends to see BILLY ELLIOT in London! http://www.billyelliotthemusical.com/home.php
Should be about 18 pounds for the ticket. Not bad at all!
Just want to stop in and say hello and that things are going well.
So excited for tonight!!!
Free free free!
I’m going to the Imperial War Museum tomorrow. They have The Holocaust Exhibition there right now. Here’s a link: http://london.iwm.org.uk/server/show/ConWebDoc.1454
I loveee that all museums are free. I pulled out my travel book and starting making a list of everything I want to see in the city so that I can be a great tour guide for everyone who visits! YAY!
London!
Sorry for the lack of updates! I already am behind on tons of reading and yesterday spent the entire day in the city. It was freeeezing, but pretty fun. By the end I was exhausted. We did a “photo frenzy” scavenger hunt which was an event put on by the study abroad group at school. We all ran around, solving clues and taking photos all over London. It was exciting to see places I...
Sorry for not updating too much!
One bit of exciting news: I found out that the school offers a group trip to EGYPT over spring break! It’s a nice deal where they provide a place to stay, breakfast, group tours, and plane fare for 200 something. It’s the second half of spring break which is PERFECT because I’ll be in Germany for the first half.
It’s been sort of boring...
BIRTHDAY WISHES!!!
HAPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAYS TO JOSH (30 on Monday!) and ALISON (21 yesterday!)

I will send all my lovin' to you...
Yesterday was orientation day, so it was a lot of boring things. Made some new friends, found out my schedule, etc. A kid who had already been to Kingston University before took us around town and showed us where to eat cheaply. I had sweet potato curry. Not the best curry I’ve ever had, but it was okay.
Then we went on to the Welcome Party that the school threw for the study abroad...
My first mistake!
I think you will all be very surprised to hear that I got myself a little lost today. I went out on my own because it’s impossible to get into touch with people around here. I think people who live(d) with out phones must be or must have been a lot more specific and very punctual. t took me a long while and a nap to energize me and motivate me to go off on my own. Anyway, I went to the...
Day 1!
So today was a bit hectic and veryyyy exhausting. I got to the International Welcome Center early because of my flight and had to hang out there since I couldn’t meet up with Helen until 1:30. I was the first one there. As more and more people came in and out, it seemed that there were a lot of problems with the cabs and with the land people. So many people went to and from the Center,...
ARRIVED! (written earlier today)
Right now I’m at the International Welcome Center on the Kingston Campus. A man came to the airport to pick up everyone from Kingston. There were 5 of us, all girls. We couldn’t all fit in one lift and he goes, “I can’t believe how much you all packed!” The poor man. It barely fit into the van. I saw a tiny bit of London (just what is around Heathrow) and the...

i’m beginning to hate yahoo’s literati after playing so much real scrabble. there’s another site where you can play LEXULOUS. it’s similar to literati in that it had to change the board around for legal reasons.
anyway, i’ll still be playing both all the time. anyone who would like to oppose me in the coming months, my user ID for both of them is yiddy18.
what to pack?!
this is for nikki to read and edit, mostly.
